The Esquel Pallasite Meteorite is a stony-iron meteorite pallasite found in Esquel, Chubut, Argentina sometime around 1951. The meteorite mass, weighing 1,500 kilograms, was found by a local citizen.
The Esquel Pallasite is one of the prettiest of the pallasites with large lime-green crystals. Scientists believe that pallasites were formed when the molten core of a planet mixed with the silicate magma. The olivine crystallized out of the silicate as it cooled, and was then forced into the metal "mold" where the mass solidified.
