12.1 - 13.0 Pound Shiva Lingam (Polished River Rock) Specimen from India

These Shiva Lingams (also called Bana Lingams) come only from the Narmada River in the central western region of India and are a variety of cryptocrystalline quartz that is oval in shape with earthy, two-toned hues. In ancient Sanskrit, Shiva Lingam means a “sign” or “symbol”. These Lingams were gathered and polished by hand. 

  • These specimens range between 12.1 to 13.0 lbs (5.4 - 5.9 kgs)   
  • Average size: 10.0 x 5.0 inches - egg shaped
  • These egg-shaped Shiva Lingams are said to promote balance and harmony in one's life, and may also be useful for those engaged in the study of Ayurvedic practices.
  • Traditionally, the stones are set in an upright position in a base called a Yoni. The Yoni is a symbol of the female principle, the source of the womb of all creation and movement.
