Campo Del Cielo Meteorite Mounted on a Star Shaped Stand


This Campo meterorite has been mounted on a star shaped stand. It will become a focal point for conversation in any setting and has an awe factor that is hard to come by these days. It is a unique piece for home or office settings. 

This meteorite was first discovered 1576 in Gran Chaco Gualamba, Chaco, Argentina, but was likely known by local natives prior to this. Its impact on Earth is believed to have occurred approximately 4,000 and 5,000 years ago. Estimates of total recovered material exceed 60 tons, which makes it the heaviest meteorite recovered on Earth. The Campo Del Cielo is classified as a Nickel-Iron Meteorite (Coarse Octahedrite with Silicate Inclusions).
